Car Travel with Baby
Any advice for a baby that does not like to travel in the car... at all? We are going to want to travel to meet the grandparents and great-grandparents that are too old to travel. Thanks!
When it is time to go, put your baby in the car at the very last to minimize fussing. Strap him into the car seat as efficiently as you can, and take off. Try burping your baby before you leave, as this may be causing some discomfort. It’s also been suggested that some babies get motion sickness. Turn on some music to distract him and maybe hang a soft mirror for him to see himself in. Keep going, and after a few trips, he should get used to it. If mom or you (depending on who is driving) want to sit in the back seat to play with him, fine, but no matter how tempted, don't take him out of his seat while you drive. Two reasons - safety of course, and he will never get used to the car seat.
Good luck and let me know how it works out.
